Visit the historic
town of York
Explore Wave Rock
Esperance and the Great Ocean Drive
Leaving Perth we head through the Darling
Ranges towards the historic town of York.
Colonial buildings line the streets as we
stop to admire the towns proud heritage.
Continuing through the expansive fields
of the wheat belt we journey to The Dog
Cemetery. Next Hyden and its famous
Wave Rock. Learn how this mysterious
granite outcrop, sculptured by nature, along
with Hippos Yawn is steeped
with aborigine culture. The tour proceeds
past the 120°E meridian (WA time) towards
Esperance and the Southern Oceans
spectacular coastline. We travel the Great
Ocean Drive for a brief taste of what
tomorrow has to offer before checking into
our hostel accommodation. Check out the
town or go fishing from the town jetty and
maybe see Sammy the sea lion!

Cape Le Grande

Climb Frenchman's peak
Lucky Bay & Hells Fire Beach
Walk Thistle Cove's Nature Trail.
Prepare to be amazed this morning! Cape
Le Grande awaits, a day of wonder, adventure
and unbelievable scenery. We head straight
for Lucky Bay, arguably one of Australias
finest beaches. See the kangaroos and stroll
the squeaky clean sands. Walk the nature
trail to Thistle Cove to witness
stunning panoramas and abundant wildlife,
then cool off in the pristine aquamarine
waters of Hellfire Beach. Relax now
but after lunch we climb Frenchman's
Peak. From the ocean
carved caves, the 260m summit offers sweeping
views. It has been a full day as we return
to our accommodation.
Towards days end, we can visit the town
lookout to view the beautiful Recherché
Archipelago before feasting on an
Aussie BBQ.

Albany Township
Today, as we make our way towards Western
Australias first settlement, Albany,
it is all about the region's unique ecosystems.
First up is the Biosphere of the Fitzgerald
River National Park (wildflower season
only) which is internationally recognised
as the most important Mediterranean
ecosystem in the world. We head for
the coast, looking for Southern Right
whales (winter season only) and travel
the scenic route to lunch. We enjoy the
nature trails of Two Peoples Bay
that meander throughout this sanctuary for
threatened birds and animals to yet another
amazing beach. Heading into town, we visit
the many attractions of Albanys spectacular
Middleton Beach & King George Sound,
a stunning natural harbour best viewed from
Mount Clarence lookout. Hostel accommodation
for tonight.

Frenchman Bay
The Gap/Natural Bridge/Blow holes
Tree Top Walk
Following the coastline of King George Sound
we head for nearby Frenchman Bay
to explore the wonderful Whale Museum
(winter only). Described as Australias
first industry see how the early
whale hunters battled with giant sharks
to land their huge catches. The tour then
moves on to the imposing natural coastline
features locally known as The Gap,
Natural Bridge and the famous
blow holes. We continue on to the
town of Denmark for a short break
before arriving at the stunning Greens
Pool. Our next stop is the Valley
of the Giants which includes the
elevated Tree Top Walk
with views of the dense Tingle Tree canopy.
We journey on to Pemberton, where you can
take up the challenge and climb one of the
famous Fire Tree lookouts (summer
only). Its then on to our overnight
stay. Hostel accommodation, BBQ Dinner.

Busselton Jetty
Dolphin Discovery Centre
Awakening to a wonderful misty southwest
morning, we rise to the sights of kangaroos
and emus which are abundant in the area.
Heading north west, we journey to the famous
wine and surfing region of Augusta &
Margaret River. The spectacular limestone
coast winds its way to the mouth of the
Margaret River. Nearby, waves from the Indian
Ocean wash onto pristine beaches, home of
the world famous WA Masters Surf Championships.
We continue to The Wardan Aboriginal
Centre where we learn about the early
Aboriginal people, the Wardandi people.
Hear about the amazing bushcraft
skills used by the aboriginal
people who thrived in the district for thousands
of years. After lunch, we enjoy wine tasting
at an exclusive winery and also spoil ourselves
at the locally run Chocolate Company. Next
stop, we visit one of the vast networks
of caves in the region. Then it's
Busselton Jetty, for a look at the
longest piled wooden jetty in the Southern
Hemisphere. Our tour is coming to an end
and before we say our goodbyes we have one
last stop at Bunbury Dolphin Discovery
centre sitting on the edge of Koombana
Bay and maybe see a dolphin cruise by.
Next stop Perth city where we arrive back
around 7.00pm.
